On May 30, 2025 at the Presidential Palace in Baabda the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Lebanese Republic Mr. Roman Goriainov presented his Letter of Credence to the President of Lebanon, General Joseph Aoun.

During the meeting, the Ukrainian Ambassador emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral relations between Ukraine and Lebanon in different spheres, briefed His Excellency Mr. President on the current situation in Ukraine, and delivered an official invitation from the President of Ukraine Mr. Volodymyr Zelenskyy to visit Kyiv. He also conveyed an invitation to the First Lady of Lebanon to participate in the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, scheduled to take place in the Ukrainian capital in September of this year.

President Joseph Aoun reaffirmed Lebanon's readiness for comprehensive cooperation with Ukraine. He praised the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people and Armed Forces of Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression, underscoring that Lebanon condemned these actions from the outset. In this context, he expressed hope for the swift conclusion of the war.

The parties also briefly discussed the priorities for development in both economic and humanitarian spheres, agreeing on the significant potential for implementing ambitious plans that would benefit both nations.

Before the ceremony, the Ukrainian Ambassador met with Lebanon's Minister of Foreign Affairs Youssef Rajji. During the meeting, they discussed the situation in Lebanon and Ukraine, as well as prospects for developing bilateral relations.
