On October 28, 2010 Ambassador of Ukraine Volodymyr Koval met with the Minister of Education and Higher Education of the Republic of Lebanon Hassan Mneimneh.

During the meting Volodymyr Koval informed his interlocutor about condition and perspectives of development of higher education in Ukraine and spoke in favour of intensification of cooperation between the two countries in this field.

The Ambassador asked H.Mneimneh to accelerate consideration of the Draft Agreement on Mutual Recognition of Certificates of Education, Scientific Degrees and Academic Titles, Cooperation in the Field of Research studies, currently under review by the Lebanse Side.

Issues of establishment of direct relations between universities of Ukraine and Lebanon were also discussed. In this context the two Sides positively assessed, in particular, signing in Beirut on October 26, 2010 of the Agreement on Cooperation Between the Lviv National Polytechnic University and the American University of Science & Technology in Lebanon.
