On May 12, 2010 Ambassador of Ukraine Volodymyr Koval met with Minister of Economy and Trade of the Lebanese Republic Mohammad Safadi.

During the meeting the two sides discussed the prospects of development of trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Lebanon, as well as issues of preparation for and holding of, the first session of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Lebanese Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

Volodymyr Koval informed the Lebanese Minister about the Ukrainian Government’s appointment of Economy Minister Vasyl Tsushko as Head of the Ukrainian Part of the of the Intergovernmental Commission. The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine proposed to hold the constituent session of the Intergovernmental Commission in the third-fourth quarter of 2010.

Mohammad Safadi said that the Lebanese Side is considering the issue of his appointment as Head of the Lebanese Part of the Intergovernmental Commission.
