The Ukrainian Cultural Festival under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of Lebanon and the Embassy of Ukraine in Lebanon will be held in Lebanon from May 8 to May 23, 2019.
The Festival will be welcomed in the artistic and historical places in the cities of Beirut, Biblos, Zakhle, Tripoli and Saida. The purpose of the festival is to present Ukraine with its multifaceted culture and historical traditions, to introduce to its best heritage of song, music and fine arts, to show Ukraine as a country that is spiritually close to Lebanon and is exceptional one. The Festival is intended to promote the mutual enrichment of Ukrainian and Lebanese cultures, as well as the strengthening of bilateral ties.
During two weeks, the guests of the Festival will have an opportunity to feel the atmosphere and rich canvas of the Ukrainian cultural space.
Within the framework of this large-scale cultural project,
- an art exhibition of contemporary Ukrainian artists "Ukraine from Trypillia to the present" and a photo exhibition "Ukrainian Donbas" of Ukrainian and Lebanese photographers O.Klymenko and B.Lahud will be held;
- a Ukrainian square with the sculpture "Motherhood" of M.Horlovy, the Ukrainian sculptor and a memorable plaque to V.Hryhorovych-Barsky, the Ukrainian pilgrim and writer will be inaugurated;
- parade of Ukrainian embroidered shirts will pass;
- concerts of well-known Ukrainian music bands "Shpyliasti Kobzari", "Сhorea Kozaсky", "Onuky", an exhibition-fair of works of folk art and a presentation of Ukrainian cuisine will take place.
The culmination and pearl of the Days of Ukrainian culture will undoubtedly be the concert of the famous Ukrainian singer, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest Jamala at Casino du Liban. This will be her first concert in the Middle East. Guests of the fantastic event will enjoy the unsurpassed timbre of the singer's voice, the original style of performance of Ukrainian and Crimean-Tatar songs, to be assured of her world-scale talent and art richness of Ukraine.
All events of the festival will be covered by leading Lebanese TV, print and electronic media.
