The Second Session of the Ukrainian-Lebanese Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation started in Beirut on 24 November 2011.

The event was opened by the Co-Chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission - Minister of Regional Development, Construction, and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Anatoliy Blyznyuk, and Minister of Economy and Trade of the Lebanese Republic Nicolas Nahas.

The parties positively assessed the condition of cooperation in the trade and economic field, evidenced, in particular, from the continuous growth of the volume of turnover between the two countries, which for the ten months of this year exceeded 1 billion US Dollars.

During the Second Session Ukraine and Lebanon are to identify the priority directions of further bilateral cooperation, ways of its intensification and diversification.

A Ukrainian-Lebanese business forum is being held on the sidelines of the above event.
