Within the framework of holding the Second Joint Session of the Ukrainian-Lebanese Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, its Co-Chair, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Anatoliy Blyznyuk met on 24 November 2011 in Beirut with the President of the Council of Ministers of the Lebanese Republic Najib Mikati.

The parties discussed the issues of intensification of political dialogue between Ukraine and Lebanon, boosting trade and economic ties, as well as expansion of legal basis of bilateral relations.

Anatoliy Blyznyuk confirmed the invitation from the Prime Minster of Ukraine Mykola Azarov for the Head of the Lebanese Government to pay an official visit to Kyiv next year.

The interlocutors positively assessed holding of the Second Session of the Commission, which is to become an important stage in preparation for Najib Mikati’s future visit to Ukraine.
