On August 23, 2012 the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Lebanon held a solemn event dedicated to the Day of State Flag of Ukraine.

The ceremony was attended by the Embassy staff and members of their families, representatives of the Ukrainian community in Lebanon, Association of Lebanese graduates of Ukrainian universities, local media.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Volodymyr Koval touched on the history of evolution of Ukraine’s state symbols, underscoring the outstanding significance of the flag for its state building and independence.

Under the accompaniment of Ukraine’s anthem, the state flag was raised above the Embassy.

Special folklore tinge was rendered to the ceremony by the Children Company from the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Lebanon. The children dressed in Ukrainian national garment, recited verses and performed a dance, all related to the flag.

The event dedicated to the Day of State Flag of Ukraine which was arranged by the Embassy on the eve of its independence anniversary, was highlighted by Lebanese media.
