In 2012, the Head of the National Assembly of Lebanon Nabih Berri became the winner of the sixth Hrawi Award.
Prime Minister Najib Mikati delivered a welcome speech.
The ceremony was attended by the President of Lebanon Michel Sleiman, members of the Lebanese government and parliament, representatives of diplomatic corps in Beirut.
Hrawi Award was established in 2007, its winners are outstanding political, cultural and public figures of Lebanon, who made a significant contribution to the strengthening and development of the country. The award is named after the former President of Lebanon Elias Hrawi, who was head of state from 1989 to 1998.
