On July 7, 2011 Ambassador of Ukraine to the Lebanese Republic Volodymyr Koval had a working meeting with the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Lebanon, Ambassador Angelina Eichhorst.

During the meeting the current political situation in the Middle East region, specifically in Lebanon, was reviewed. The importance of this country’s role in securing stability and peaceful coexistence in the region was underscored.

In pursuance of this topic the interlocutors exchanged views on the developments in the neighbouring Syria.

The heads of the diplomatic missions also discussed a wide range of issues pertaining to the implementation of Ukraine’s European integration course, primarily completion of the preparation and signing of the Agreements on Ukraine-EU Association, Free Trade Area, as well as liberalization of visa regime.
