On July 15, 2011 Ambassador of Ukraine to the Lebanese Republic Volodymyr Koval met with Minister of Economy and Trade of Lebanon Nicolas Nahhas.

At the outset of the meeting, Vodymyr Koval congratulated the Lebanese Minister on his recent appointment to the high government post.

The interlocutors discussed the state of realization of understandings resulting from the first joint session of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Lebanese Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation held on November 30, 2010 in Kyiv. In this connection it was agreed to start preparation for the second session of the Commission which is to be held in autumn in Beirut.

Nicolas Nahhas is expected to head the Lebanese delegation for the session.

During the meeting the two sides also discussed a wide range of issues pertaining to bilateral cooperation in the sphere of economy. Special attention was paid to the state of preparation of bilateral legal documents.

Volodymyr Koval informed the Lebanese Minister about the steps taken by the Ukrainian government in order to improve the investment climate in the country.
