From February 6 to 7, 2019, a delegation of the Parliamentary Commission of the Lebanese-Ukrainian Friendship of the National Assembly of the Lebanon headed by Mr. M. Mussa, the Chairman of the Commission, visited Ukraine.

Lebanese parliamentarians met with First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine I.Herashchenko, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine S.Kyslytsia, Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Foreign Affairs H.Hopko, Deputy Group of Ukrainian Parliament on Relations with Lebanon. During the visit, guests took part in the events of the celebration of St. Maroon Day.

At the meetings, the delegation was acquainted with the situation in Ukraine, in particular in the context of efforts to defend our state against Russian aggression in the east and the temporary occupation of the Crimea. The parties discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, in particular in the economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, and stressed the importance of intensifying the political dialogue between the two countries, in particular at the level of parliaments.

The visit of the Lebanese legislators has made a significant contribution to the strengthening of bilateral relations.
