On March 29, 2012 the Ambassador of Ukraine to Lebanon Volodymyr Koval met with the Mayor of Beirut Bilal Hamad.

During the meeting the issues of intensification of cooperation between Kyiv and Beirut in cultural, scientific-technical and investment spheres were discussed. The Lebanese high official expressed desire in exchanging experience on how to manage the cities and resolve the problems of urban transport infrastructure.

It was agreed to study the issue of paying a visit of the Lebanese delegation headed by the Mayor of Beirut to Kyiv in autumn this year. During the trip an Agreement on Cooperation between the two capitals is expected to be signed.
