Ambassador of Ukraine Ihor Ostash and his wife Marina Hrymych visited six schools for children of Syrian refugees
15 February 2017 12:12

Ambassador of Ukraine Ihor Ostash and his wife Marina Hrymych visited six schools for children of Syrian refugees in Makse, Barra Elias, Majdal-Anjar. Diplomats brought children books, clothing, stationery, toys, sweets which were gathered  by diplomats and Ukrainian communities. Ukrainians are very well aware of the problem of Lebanon, where there are 1.8 million Syrian refugees. The same number of internally displaced persons we can see now in Ukraine as a result of Russian aggression in Donbass and occupation of Crimea. Today about 250,000 Syrian refugee children are unable to study in schools. Charitable foundations and philanthropists like the foundation "Kaiaani" and Nora Jumblatt help them. Diplomats were  accompanied by Zukan Zharamani, head of the Ukrainian alumnus Club and Christina Salam. The Embassy is planning several actions in support of refugees
