Ambassador Volodymyr Koval had a meeting with Mr. Hassan Diab, Minister of Education of Lebanon, on February 8, 2013. During the meeting the main attention was focused on ways to energize cooperation in educational and scientific research spheres and on possible dates of Mr. Hassan Diab’s visit to Ukraine. Preliminarily, the visit is planned for May, 2013.
The counterparts agreed to accelerate the consideration of the intergovernmental Agreement on Mutual Recognition of Documents on Education, Scientific Degrees and Academic Titles by the Sides in order to sign this Agreement during a future visit of the Lebanese Minister to Ukraine.
The Sides agreed that to provide practical agenda for the bilateral cooperation in educational and scientific spheres it is necessary to continue establishment of immediate cooperation between higher educational institutions of both countries. Technical higher educational institutions are of particular interest for the Lebanese Side. Specific steps were defined to intensify the contacts between higher educational institutions of Lebanon and Ukraine.
